Hear presentations and speeches and visit the museum afterward. Armed Forces Day in the United States is celebrated on the third Saturday of May. It was established in 1949 by then-Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson. The day is part of National Military Appreciation Month, which runs from May 1-31.
