25 years. We remember. 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001. The lives lost, the families forever changed, and the countless first responders who ran toward danger while others were running away.

We remember the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, dispatchers, and civilians who never made it home. We remember those who survived and continue to carry the weight of that day.

As firefighters, we know the call to serve comes with sacrifice. September 11 reminds us why we stand together, why we answer the call, and why we never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

25 years later, their courage still inspires us.
Their sacrifice still matters.
Their memory will never fade.

🇺🇸 Never Forget. 🇺🇸

Proud of our past. Proud of our people. Proud to serve.

Some things are more than just equipment. They’re a piece of our history, a reminder of where we came from, and a symbol of the pride we have in serving our community.

We’re proud to honor the traditions of the Tawas City Fire Department and the generations of firefighters who have helped make it what it is today. 🔥🚒

🚒 Training nights are about more than building skills, they’re about building a stronger team.

This week, our team trained for a variety of emergencies, including water rescue, a mock house fire, and medical response. While each call type requires different skills, they all have one thing in common: teamwork.

Whether it’s fire, medical, or water emergencies, the Tawas City Fire Department responds as one department with one mission, to serve and protect our community.

After training, we gathered for a family-style dinner, taking time to connect, share a meal, and strengthen the relationships that make us a better team both on and off the scene.

Thank you to all of our team for your continued dedication, and thank you to our community for your ongoing support.

These painted rocks were waiting for us outside the fire station today. To the person who left them, thank you for thinking of us. Your support and encouragement mean the world to our firefighters.

We’re proud to serve this amazing community. Have a safe and happy Fourth of July weekend! 🇺🇸🚒

🇺🇸 Happy Fourth of July Weekend from the Tawas City Fire Department! 🇺🇸

There’s nothing quite like the Fourth of July in the Tawases. From time spent with family and friends to enjoying our beautiful shoreline, parade, fireworks, and all the traditions that make this weekend special.

As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s independence, we’re reminded how fortunate we are to be part of a community that comes together to celebrate.

Wishing everyone a safe, enjoyable, and memorable Fourth of July weekend. Happy Independence Day! 🚒

The health and wellness of our firefighters is just as important as the equipment we use and the training we complete.

We are proud to support the Firefighter Safety Stand Down initiative and the firefighters who work hard to stay healthy, safe, and ready to serve our community.

Fitness isn’t just about strength. It’s about staying ready to serve.

Safety Stand Down 2026 (June 14–20) breaks firefighter fitness into daily focus areas:
• Foundations
• Intentional
• Technique
• Nutrition
• Evaluation
• Sleep
• Strategies for Success

Use these topics to guide training, conversations, and long-term health in your department.
