TAVARES HISTORY MUSEUM - FUN FACT FRIDAY !! "People around here thought twice before cussing in 1928, because of Police Chief Joel Flowers could fine offenders $5 for using profane, indecent, or abusive language-a penalty that would be worth about $97.37 today." By modern standards, getting the equivalent of nearly $100 for a single outburst would probably make a lot of people think twice about cussing!

🛩️AVIATION CAMP!
The City of Tavares Recreation Department, in partnership with Jones Brothers Air and Seaplane Adventures, is launching a new Aviation Camp for ages 11–14!
This 6-week program introduces participants to aviation through hands-on learning, aviation fundamentals, and a 10-minute seaplane flight experience.

📅 Begins June 20
⏰ Saturdays | 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
📍 210 E. Ruby St., Tavares
Cost: $300

TAVARES HISTORY MUSEUM - FUN FACT FRIDAY !! Stop by the Tavares History Museum this summer to enjoy two of our favorite American inventions; air conditioning and chocolate chip cookies. Learn about other significant inventions, share some of your favorites, and join us in celebrating America's 250 years of innovations. The Tavares History Museum hours:
Tuesday: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Thursday: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Friday: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
The museum is closed on Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. Admission is free.
The museum is located inside the historic train station at 305 E. Ruby Street in Tavares.

Congratulations to the Tavares High School Class of 2026, as well as the students, teachers, and staff of Tavares Middle School, Tavares Elementary School, and Pinecrest Academy Tavares. Best wishes to all of our Tavares and Lake County School students for a safe, fun, and memorable summer. If you are looking for something to do this summer, stop by the Tavares Museum. We are open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Join us in wishing these athletes and coaches the best of luck as they head to DeBary to represent our community! For both teams, their tournament journey begins tomorrow night with 8u's first game at 6pm and 10u's first game at 7:30pm.
We’re proud of all the hard work, dedication, and teamwork that got them here. Let’s show them some support and cheer them on as they take the field!
