Wanna play a game?

After the Inauguration on Monday, the City Council will meet to select committee assignments and elect a President.

The committee assignment selection process is very much like a sports league draft. Councilors take turns according to seniority and select committees. A councilor who has served as Chair of a committee for 2 consecutive terms cannot choose to chair that committee in the first round of selections.

Let’s have a mock draft.

Submit your predictions ([email protected]) and the person with the most number of correct predictions will get lunch with Barry anywhere in Taunton.

24 hours after the polls opened yesterday and the sun is just rising over the trees across the street.

Many thanks to everyone who got involved in our local election. Democracy only works when we work at it.

Thank you to everyone who worked on my campaign for re-election to what will be my 5th term on the City Council.

Thank you to the voters and the many people who encouraged and supported me.

Thanks also to those who questioned and challenged me. I’m always grateful to have different perspectives added to my own. Healthy debate makes for a healthy democracy.

I’m looking forward to continuing to work for you and our neighbors over the next two years.
