The Tatum Police Department is attempting to locate the owner of this dog. He walked up to a house on East Johnson Street. If you are or know the owner please contact the police department so we can return him to his home.

2:03pm: New tornado warning issued, just south of Tatum and into Panola County/Beckville area.

9:19pm: A very strong storm is still moving toward the City of Tatum. Heavy rain, lighting, and hail expected.

Good afternoon all, NWS has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for East Texas, including Rusk County, for this evening until 10:00 pm. Primary threats will be hail, wind, and the possibility of a couple tornados. Our SKYWARN team will be watching, and we’ll have our office staffed monitoring the storm.



During our call this afternoon, we believe the timing will be 10:00 to 11:00 pm. We could also see some isolated storm cells develop earlier.

Fortunately the county only had two crashes this morning likely caused by the weather. Even though most of the roads are dry, still watch for isolated areas of ice on bridges and less frequently driven county roads.
