16 YEARS OF WE ROCK THE SPECTRUM! 💙🤘

Today, we’re celebrating 16 years of We Rock The Spectrum and the incredible community that has grown from one mom’s vision into a worldwide movement.

Sixteen years ago, Dina Kimmel opened the doors to the very first We Rock The Spectrum in Tarzana, California, with a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves a place where they can play, grow, connect, and feel like they belong. 💙

What started with one gym has grown into a community of locations around the world, countless friendships, unforgettable memories, and a mission that continues to make an impact for children and families every day.

To our incredible owners, teams, families, and supporters, thank you for being part of the We Rock The Spectrum story. We’re so grateful for everything you do to carry this mission into your communities.

And of course, a very special thank you to Dina for dreaming it, believing in it, and creating a place where so many families have found community. 🥹💙

Play is where kids get to experiment, make mistakes, try again, solve problems, practice movement, interact with others, and build confidence. Sometimes the biggest win isn’t mastering the activity—it’s being willing to try.

That’s why we love seeing kids challenge themselves at their own pace. A first attempt, a little progress, or even deciding they’re not ready yet can all be meaningful steps.

Every child experiences play differently. Some kids are ready to run the second they walk through the door, while others want to take everything in first. Some love movement and big sensory input, while others gravitate toward quieter activities like crafts and exploration.

That’s exactly why we believe there should be room for all kinds of play.

Today is a very special day for us here in Tarzana. September 1st marks 16 years of We Rock The Spectrum, and it all began right here in our community. 🥹

In 2010, Dina Kimmel opened the very first We Rock The Spectrum Kid’s Gym in Tarzana with a vision of creating a place where children of all abilities could play, explore, connect, and feel completely welcome.

Sixteen years later, that vision has grown into a community of locations around the world, but the heart of We Rock The Spectrum remains the same: every child deserves a place where they belong.

As the original We Rock The Spectrum, we are incredibly proud to be part of the story that started it all. 💙 Thank you to every family who has walked through our doors, shared in our journey, and helped make these 16 years so special.

We Rock The Spectrum was created from a simple idea: children of all abilities should have a place where they can play and learn together. What started with the first gym in Tarzana has grown into a mission that reaches families around the world.

Here in Tarzana, that mission continues every day through play, movement, sensory experiences, classes, parties, and community connections.

Because sometimes a child doesn’t need to be told to “sit still” or “play a certain way.” Sometimes they just need a place that lets them be themselves.
