I'm just going to sit this right here, and pray that some will read to the end and maybe take to heart these simple and easy pointers. As one great man just commented to me, "It's free to care" and caring for where you live, starts with being a good neighbor.

Essential Tips for Being a Good Neighbor

Introduce Yourself & Communicate: Make an effort to meet neighbors, especially when moving in, and share contact info for emergencies.

Be Mindful of Noise & Privacy: Respect shared walls and quiet hours. Avoid loud parties, especially late at night, and be considerate with barking dogs or power tools.

Maintain Your Property: Keep your yard, lawn, or balcony tidy and clean, adhering to any local ordinances and standards.

Be Respectful in Shared Spaces: Keep common areas like hallways, shared driveways, or laundry rooms clean and free of personal items.

Offer Help & Be Kind: Small gestures like collecting mail, taking in trash cans, or watching for safety concerns build strong relationships.

Handle Conflict Directly & Calmly: If a problem arises, talk to your neighbor face-to-face in a friendly manner before involving management or authorities.

Be Mindful of Parking: Park in designated spots and avoid blocking your neighbors' vehicles or access to their homes.

Manage Pets & Visitors: Keep pets under control, manage their noise, and ensure they don't cause issues. Inform neighbors if you are having a large party.

Let's all be a good neighbor.

🚨 SCAM ALERT: QR Code Scams 🚨

The Maryville Police Department is alerting residents to recent scams involving unexpected packages and fraudulent text messages.

📦 Package Scam:
Some residents are receiving packages (UPS, FedEx, etc.) addressed to them with inexpensive items inside. A note encourages them to scan a QR code to find out who sent the “gift.”

📱 Text Message Scam:
Others have received messages claiming they owe unpaid fines for traffic tickets or toll fees. These messages contain generic information and are sent in bulk to target unsuspecting individuals.

⚠️ These are scams. Do NOT scan QR codes or click any links.
Scammers use QR codes to direct you to malicious websites designed to steal personal information or install malware on your device.

🔒 Protect yourself:
• Do not scan QR codes from unknown or unexpected sources
• Do not provide personal or financial information through unfamiliar links
• Delete suspicious messages and report them as spam
• Dispose of any unexpected or suspicious package contents

Please stay vigilant and share this information to help protect others in our community.
