POWER OUTAGES 8:30 PM ⚡

Severe storms moving through our service area have caused several scattered outages, leaving approximately 454 members without power at this time.

Our crews are out working to assess damage and restore power. We will restore service as quickly and safely as possible.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as our crews work to get the lights back on. 💙

9:00 PM Update:
The outage affecting the Howell Road area is expected to last for several more hours as our crews make necessary repairs. We have damage to four crossarms, along with multiple phases that are down. Additional crews are coming in to assist with the repairs and get power restored as quickly as possible.

9:30 PM Update:
The Princeville outage has been repaired, and power should be restored to those affected.
Our crews have also been assigned to each of the remaining outages and are working to make repairs.

11:20 PM Update:
All outages have been restored except for the Howell Road outage. Crews are still working hard to make the necessary repairs and restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

⭐ AUGUST EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: TRAVIS STARKWEATHER ⭐

This month, we’re shining the spotlight on Travis Starkweather, who joined the Edgecombe-Martin County EMC team in April of this year! Travis currently serves as a Third Class Line Technician and is already making a difference for our members and our team. ⚡️

When Travis isn’t at work, you can usually find him hunting, spending time with his wife and child, or hanging out with family. 🦌❤️

When asked what he likes most about his job, Travis said it’s being back in Edgecombe County, working in the place he has always known, and having the opportunity to help our members.

We’re glad to have Travis back in the community and on the Edgecombe-Martin County EMC team! Thank you, Travis, for the hard work you do to keep our members powered and taken care of. ⚡️👏

🎯 GOOD NEWS — WE HAVE OPENED UP MORE TEAM SPOTS! 🎯

We have been absolutely blown away by the interest and support for our 2026 Edgecombe-Martin 4-H Sporting Clays Fundraiser! 🙌

We previously announced that all team spots were FULL, but because of the incredible response, we’ve decided to make a change!

To help accommodate more teams and keep the event moving efficiently, we will now be utilizing BOTH the front course AND the back course at Rose Hill Preserve. 🎯💥

That means we can now add more teams! 🙌

So if you missed out when we announced we were full, NOW IS YOUR CHANCE! We have spots available again, but they won’t last long!

At Edgecombe-Martin County EMC, we’re serious about keeping the lights on—but today we’re not taking ourselves too seriously!

Why did the member call EMC?
👉 Because they heard we always have the best “current” solutions! ⚡

Update: Blinking Lights in the Pinetops/Macclesfield Area

We are aware of continued reports of blinking lights in the Pinetops and Macclesfield areas today and appreciate our members’ patience as we work to identify and resolve the issue.

Our Line Technicians have been actively investigating the area. Several issues have been located and repaired over the past few days, including the tree that caused Friday’s outage. However, we are continuing to investigate the cause of the recurring blinks.

Our crews are working to thoroughly check the lines and equipment in the area to determine what may be causing the continued interruptions. We understand how frustrating repeated blinks can be and appreciate your patience while our crews work to get this resolved.

We will provide another update when we have additional information. Thank you for your patience and understanding. 💡

⚡ 6:45 p.m. Update:
Crews have located a bad transformer that is being replaced, and we have also installed fault indicators along the line to help our crews isolate where the fault may be occurring.

Our crews have ridden and walked the line, checking every section of the area where the blinking has been occurring, and they will continue working until we can identify and correct the cause of the problem.

We know these repeated blinks have been frustrating, especially after several days of interruptions. We truly appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while our crews work to get this resolved. We will continue to provide updates as we have more information. 🙏⚡
