📢 Town Office Holiday Hours

The Tappahannock Town Office will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

Additionally, following the Governor’s decision to close state offices for the upcoming Labor Day holiday, the Town Office will close at 12:00 PM on Friday, September 4.

Trash collection will continue as usual on both Friday and Monday.

We wish everyone a safe and happy Labor Day weekend!

Trash & Recycling Schedule Update

The Town of Tappahannock’s summer trash and recycling pickup schedule has ended. Beginning Tuesday, September 1, residential collection will return to the regular schedule, with pickup starting at 8:00 AM.

🏠 Residential Trash
Tuesdays & Fridays | Starting at 8:00 AM

♻️ Residential Recycling
Thursdays | Starting at 8:00 AM

🏢 Commercial Trash
No change — Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays | Starting at 7:00 AM

Residents are reminded to have trash and recycling ready for collection by the scheduled start time.

🚧 Work is officially underway at Hoskins Creek!

Construction began Monday on the first phase of the project: development of the new access road.

This is the first step in a larger project that will also include new docks, a bathhouse, and a marine fuel station. Once the access road is complete, work will begin on these additional facilities, with the goal of being operational by boating season next year.

Street Sweeping Today in Tappahannock

Street sweeping will take place today (Wednesday, August 26) from 7 AM – 3 PM on:

• Marsh Street
• Duke Street
• Virginia Street
• Prince Street
• Water Lane
• Wright Street
• Charlotte Street
• Earl Street

If you live or park along these streets, please move vehicles when possible so crews can clean the full roadway.
