Habitat for Humanity of Taos

Habitat for Humanity of Taos It's all about the "Hand Up - Not a Hand Out" Treasure Hunters & Bargain Shoppers, Contractors, Remodelers have we got goodies for you!

Taos Habitat ReStore - our mission is to RECYCLE donations from individuals and businesses, RESELL them to the public at a reduced cost, and REINVEST the profits into Habitat for Humanity of Taos to help REBUILD lives through building homes. Check out the Habitat ReStore – it’s NOT just building supplies, it’s a whole lot more. Come see what we have and the product changes daily. The ReStore is a

materials recycling center and home improvement store that sells new and used materials to the public at below-retail prices; we have a wide assortment of goods, everything but clothing! Proceeds help pay for HfHT’s home building program. By accepting these materials we’re helping Taos County go green by keeping items out of the land fill. We encourage ‘repurpose, recycle and reuse’ with pictures at the store and Facebook posts at our ReStore FB sight, www.facebook.com/TaosReStore, of great ideas on how to use something old and make something new!

👉👉Community Partner Spotlight👈👈
👉LOR Foundation👈

We are incredibly grateful for our continued partnership with the LOR Foundation and the many ways they continue to invest in our community.

Most recently, LOR provided the grant funding for our new volunteer showers- a project that will help Habitat for Humanity of Taos host more volunteer groups while creating a better experience for the people serving alongside us. With these new facilities, volunteers won’t be limited by short shower schedules after long days on the build site, helping us create a more comfortable and welcoming environment for volunteer groups. 🧱

This project has been a true community collaboration, with more than 30 students from two separate colleges helping build the showers, local volunteers contributing their time and energy week after week, and the UNM Taos Electrical class partnering with us to complete the wiring work.

Our partnership with LOR has also extended beyond construction projects. Last year, LOR funded the Earth Day campaign, which brought together the Town of Taos, Taos County, local non profits, volunteers, and community members for a shared effort focused on caring for our environment and strengthening community connections. 🌎

We’re thankful for partners like LOR who believe in collaboration, community driven solutions, and creating lasting impact in Taos.

One of the best parts of what we do is working alongside students who care about something bigger than themselves. It’s been a great week having University of Wyoming students and staff on site, and it feels like we’ve all learned a lot from each other along the way. We’re so grateful for the time, energy, and patience that they brought to this build 💪

What do Waukesha, Wisconsin and Taos, New Mexico have in common?

Apparently Carroll University students + staff 🤓

This group of 16 spent two days on the road to Taos, to help support affordable housing in our favorite corner of New Mexico (biased). They have a packed week of exploring ahead, along with kicking off the start of our 40th home in Taos County. We’re excited for the stories, sunshine, and sunburns (inevitably).

Fun fact: Carroll was the last volunteer group we hosted before COVID shut everything down. we 🫶 a full circle moment.

Just a girl, but only ever in the way of punk rock and liberation, because “Just a Girl” means being strong, capable, and showing up when it matters. The ones doing the work, building the future, and changing the meaning of “Just a girl” 💪

Happy International Women’s Day.
