Two things Taos County needs to get right:

→ Fix the building permit backlog now that the addressing problem has been resolved. Construction workers shouldn't be waiting on paperwork. → Get the Unified Development Code right. It shapes how this county grows for decades.

I attended last week's Cultural Treasures & Dark Skies event — the community mapping work happening there should absolutely be part of the new UDC. Public engagement is open now. Please participate.

Taos, I'm back — and I'm all in.

I just filed to run for Taos County Commissioner, District 1.

Last year, over 40% of you voted for a new vision for Taos. I heard you. And I'm not done fighting for this community I've called home my entire life.

District 1 — the Town of Taos, Los Cordovas, Cordillera, Lower Las Colonias, and Taos Pueblo Tract A — deserves experienced, accountable leadership. I spent 24 years serving the Town of Taos, 19 of them as Finance Director. I know how local government works — and I know how to make it work for you.

Let's finish what we started. 💪

Thank you to my cousin Jodi for writing this piece about our family, our history on Santistevan Lane, and this campaign. It reminded me why I stepped forward in the first place.

We didn’t get the outcome we hoped for, but I’m proud of the work we did together and grateful for every single person who supported this effort. Earning the highest vote total a woman has ever received in a Taos mayoral race is something we shared as a community, and it tells me that Taoseños are ready for broader voices and stronger collaboration.

My commitment to Taos doesn’t end with an election. I will continue advocating for fair funding, regional solutions, and a future where our children and grandchildren can afford to stay here. That work continues, with or without a title.

Thank you, Taos. Let’s keep moving forward, together.

— Marietta

Election night, my first cousin Marietta showed Taos what true leadership looks like. Marietta’s 605-vote total marks the highest any woman has ever earned in a Taos mayoral race —

Tonight the voters chose Dan Barrone, and I congratulate him on his victory.
To everyone who believed in this campaign—thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your work mattered. The issues we fought for still matter.
I'm not a bully. I don't attack. I collaborate. I find solutions. That's who I'll continue to be.
Campaigns end, but commitment doesn't. I'm not going anywhere.
Thank you, Taos. 💙
