Juneteenth isn't just a day on the calendar. It's a promise and a commitment to make equality a reality for ALL. Our offices will be closed on Friday, June 19 in observation of the Juneteenth holiday.

A walk around the Capitol with my friend RepMaryJoDaley and colleagues to raise money for Hunger-Free Pennsylvania and was a perfect way to start the day. More than a million Pennsylvanians experience food insecurity on a daily basis and our food pantries need all the help they can get.

This past weekend, my staff represented our office at two wonderful events!

On Saturday, Damali attended a Juneteenth celebration, where she presented a well-deserved plaque to the African-American Network of the Poconos. Juneteenth is a time to reflect, celebrate, and honor the incredible contributions of the African-American community, and I am so proud to recognize an organization doing such meaningful work in our region.
And on Sunday, Zach had the privilege of presenting an award to Nicholas Petroff in honor of his achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout! Earning the rank of Eagle Scout is no small feat — it represents years of dedication, leadership, and service, and Nicholas should be incredibly proud. Congratulations, Eagle Scout Petroff! 🦅
It is always a privilege to serve this community and to celebrate the outstanding people and organizations within it. Thank you to everyone who made these events so special!

Age does not define priorities. Compassion does not expire. Justice does not retire. I'm proud to recognize June 15, 2026, as World Elder Abuse Awareness Day in PA and will continue fighting to protect older adults from abuse and exploitation.

📰 Weekly Roundup: Highlights You Shouldn't Miss!

It was another busy week both here in the 115th District and in Harrisburg.

On Sunday, I had the pleasure of attending the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Chase Lentz of Troop 300. Congratulations to Chase on earning Scouting's highest rank and for his dedication to leadership and service.

Monday, in Harrisburg, my bill, HB 1611, the Older Adult Protective Services Act, was voted out of the House Aging & Older Adult Services Committee with bipartisan support. This legislation strengthens protections for older Pennsylvanians and is an important step forward in the legislative process.

On Tuesday, Danielle from my office attended a PPL public meeting regarding a proposed data center project in neighboring Tobyhanna Township. While the project is not located in the 115th District, it could have impacts throughout our region. PPL indicated that proposed transmission line upgrades are being driven by the project's power needs. No formal application has been submitted and no approvals have been granted at this time, but I will continue monitoring developments and keeping residents informed.

The House also passed several bills to help everyday Pennsylvanians:

• HB 1678 – Makes large digital advertising companies pay their fair share, with revenue dedicated to preventing property tax increases for older homeowners.

• HB 2109 ("Golden Girls Law") – Expands housing options by preventing arbitrary limits on unrelated adults living together, helping more people afford to stay in their communities.

• HB 2550 – Supports workers and small businesses by providing a tax credit for small business owners who contribute to employees' health insurance premiums through Pennie.

• HB 836 – Protects access to fertility treatments for Pennsylvania families.

Finally, I was pleased to welcome our newest Legislative Fellow, Joel Smith, a Political Science student at Dickinson College. Over the next two months, Joel will gain firsthand experience with the legislative process, conduct policy research, and help develop legislation as part of the fellowship program.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve the people of the 115th District. As always, my office is here to help.
