Today, we remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001. 🇺🇸

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11, members of our Tampa Bay Chamber team joined Partner member USAA to honor this National Day of Service by packing meals that will support local families facing hunger.

September 11 is a day of remembrance, but also a reminder of the strength of communities coming together to serve one another. We’re grateful for the opportunity to spend part of today doing just that alongside our Tampa Bay community. ❤️

Last night was a beautiful reminder of what legacy and leadership truly look like. ✨

Congratulations to our 2026 Legacy Leader Award recipient, Tony Selvaggio! 🎉

Tony’s journey from TBBA participant to an entrepreneur creating meaningful impact throughout Tampa Bay is a powerful example of what it means to lead with purpose, build with intention and give back along the way.

The Legacy Leader Award recognizes a TBBA alum whose impact extends beyond the success of their business — someone who embraces collaboration, invests in others and helps strengthen our community. Tony embodies that spirit, and we were proud to celebrate him!

A very special thank you to our sponsors, Florida Central Credit Union and The Makar Law Firm, for helping make this recognition possible. Your continued investment in the Tampa Bay Business Accelerator helps us celebrate and support the entrepreneurs who are building businesses, creating opportunities and making a lasting impact across our region.

Congratulations again, Tony! Here’s to building businesses, strengthening our community and creating legacies that extend far beyond ourselves. 💙

Ready to begin your own TBBA journey? Applications for the next cohort are open through September 18!

A strong workforce depends on more than job opportunities. It requires the essential supports that enable employees to live, work and thrive in our community.

Last week, a packed room of Tampa Bay business and community leaders joined us for State of the Workforce, an important conversation about how workforce housing and access to affordable, reliable childcare are shaping our region’s ability to attract, retain and grow talent. 🏫

Thank you to our panelists Patricia “Patti” Rendon, Hillsborough County Public Schools Board Member, District 4; Abbye Feeley, Administrator for Development and Economic Opportunity at the City of Tampa; and Michelle Bauer, Chief Operating Officer at the Tampa Bay EDC, for bringing valuable perspectives to the discussion.

Together, they explored the connections between education, housing, workforce participation and community development, as well as the role collaboration can play in supporting working families and strengthening Tampa Bay’s talent pipeline. 📈

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such an engaged conversation, and a special thank you to MUFG, our Presenting Sponsor, for making this important program possible!

LT ’27 took their Leadership Tampa journey on the road! 🚌🌴

Last weekend, LT ’27 headed to Sarasota for their Opening Retreat — two days of connection, conversation, learning and plenty of great energy as the class continued getting to know one another and began their Leadership Tampa journey.

A special thank you to Shadel Hamilton, Ed.D, LT ’27 Class Chair, for helping lead this year’s class, and to our Leadership Programs team for all the work behind the scenes to bring the retreat together. ☺️

Thank you to our LT ’27 members for sharing these photos, including Felix Pulido for the incredible aerial shot! 📸

Ready, Not Rattled ✨

Last week, our Women of Influence hosted Pearls of Experience: Ready, Not Rattled, an interactive evening of personal safety, situational awareness and hands-on self-defense led by James White of Tampa General Hospital.

Guests walked away with practical skills, greater awareness and, most importantly, a little more confidence in themselves. ❤️

Thank you to Floridacentral Credit Union, our Presenting Sponsor, The Skills Center, Gaston's Culinary Services and Time for Wine for helping make the evening possible! 😄

What does it take to turn one business into a lasting legacy? 💡

Meet Tina D. Howell, Founder & CEO of Bridge Restaurant Group and the featured speaker for our upcoming Legacy & Leadership Speaker Series. In 2002, Tina made history as the first person to open a Wingstop franchise in Miami-Dade County. What began with one location has grown to 19 Wingstop restaurants across Tampa Bay and Miami, generating more than $32 million in annual revenue and creating jobs and economic opportunity throughout our region. 📈

But Tina’s story extends far beyond restaurants. A former public school teacher, U.S. Army Reserve Veteran and former Founder & CEO of a $20M+ home health agency, Tina has built her career around bold decisions, resilience and creating opportunities that last.

On September 9, she’s bringing those lessons to the stage at Legacy & Leadership: Hosted by TBBA Alumni:

📅 September 9 | 5:00–7:30 p.m.

Our Chamber community showed up ready to celebrate Tampa Bay at last weekend's Cannon Fire & Tailgate event! With amazing food and drinks, music, and incredible raffle prizes, the energy was unmatched. 🏴‍☠️🏈

We loved seeing so many familiar faces come together before heading into Raymond James Stadium, and a Bucs preseason win over the Chiefs was the perfect way to end the night! 🎉

A special thanks to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for hosting and collaborating with us and to Mayor Jane Castor for spending part of the evening with our members, and the Tampa Bay Times, our Media Sponsor.

There really is something special about seeing our business community come together to celebrate the city and team we all call home. ❤️
