Teachers: join us on September 3 for a free, one-hour virtual workshop featuring two interactive financial education simulations back to back. A tutorial workshop on the Budget Game & Stock Market Challenge — perfect if you need help navigating the site, are brand new to one (or both) games, or just want a refresher.

From 4–4:30 p.m., experience the Budget Game, where students navigate 12 virtual months of real-life financial decisions. Then from 4:30–5 p.m., explore the Stock Market Challenge, an online investment simulation where students manage a hypothetical $100,000 portfolio.

It’s a quick, hands-on way to see how these tools can bring personal finance and investing concepts to life in the classroom.

How have the ideas of John Maynard Keynes and Friedrich Hayek shaped the economic debates we still see today?

On September 8 from 5–6 p.m. ET, EconEdLink is hosting a free webinar for high school and higher education teachers exploring the competing ideas of the Keynesian and Austrian schools of economic thought. Participants will examine perspectives on government intervention, markets and economic cycles while connecting those ideas to current topics including inflation, stimulus spending and regulation.

Teachers will also leave with classroom-ready discussion prompts, activities and lesson ideas designed to help students engage with these important economic concepts.

We are saddened by the passing of Bill Edwards, a member of the Tampa Bay Business Hall of Fame and longtime supporter of the Florida Council on Economic Education.

Bill’s leadership, generosity and commitment to the Tampa Bay community left a lasting impact. We are grateful for his support of FCEE and proud to have recognized his legacy through the Hall of Fame.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends and all who knew him.

Registration is now open for FCEE’s Fall 2026 Budget Game!

Open to students in grades 6–12, this interactive simulation challenges students to navigate real-life financial decisions while managing income, expenses, savings, credit and unexpected events. It is a practical way to help students understand how the choices they make today can affect their long-term financial well-being.

Registration is now open for the Fall 2026 Florida Stock Market Challenge!

This hands-on program gives K–12 students the opportunity to manage a hypothetical $100,000 investment portfolio while developing practical skills in investing, economics, math and personal finance. Teams compete against students at their grade level from across Florida during the 10-week challenge.

The practice round begins this week, and the official competition runs September 7 through November 13.
