Did you know that in the summer of 1969, the library held rock concerts to encourage teens to visit?

The Youth Services Department organized Friday night concerts featuring local bands and DJs in the Bookmobile tunnel behind the Tampa Public Library (now known as the John F. Germany Public Library). These concerts were a hit, attracting up to 1,500 teens! Due to their incredible success, they had to move to the Armory the following year.
