At DOCS, caregivers learn evidence-based strategies to understand behavior and teach children more appropriate ways to communicate and get their needs met.

💚 Behavior is information. Use it to teach.

New DOCS Team photos! 📸☀️🌳

Because it really does take a team - and we’re proud to be part of yours.

One team, and lots of passion for supporting families through all the ups, downs, questions, and wonderfully chaotic moments of parenting. We’re lucky to do what we do together! 🫶

🌻 Fostering development means creating a supportive and predictable environment where children know what to expect and feel safe enough to learn.

That doesn’t mean removing every difficult experience.

It means asking:

🌺 What does this child need to learn?
🌷 What support do they need to practice it?
🌹 And how can I respond in a way that strengthens the skills I want to see more of?

Sometimes the most supportive thing we can do is step in.

Sometimes it’s stepping back.

The goal is to create the conditions where they can develop the skills, confidence, and resilience to navigate that environment successfully. 🌸

Today, we were grateful to welcome an incredible group of professionals in psychiatry, psychology, and child development for our DOCS Parenting One-Day Training. Beyond the opportunity to serve families, one of the greatest rewards of this work is building meaningful professional connections. Together, we learn from one another, stay current with the latest research, and gain fresh perspectives that make us all better equipped to support the children and families in our community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today. We’re excited for the months ahead as we continue learning, growing, and making a difference together.

We've been working with our community on raising water safety awareness to help prevent drownings and keep children safe through education and lifesaving swim skills.
💧 In Florida, drowning is the leading cause of unintentional death for children ages 1–4.
💧 Florida has the highest child drowning rate in the nation for this age group.
💧 Swim lessons are one important layer of protection that can help save lives.
The good news is
has issued a Swim Lesson Voucher Program for eligible children ages 1–7.
To apply, you'll need:
💙 Proof of Florida residency
💙 Proof of income (gross family income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines)
💙 Your child's date of birth
⏰ Swim lessons must begin within 180 days of voucher issuance.

Sometimes we wonder if we’re getting it right. In those moments, try asking yourself: Can I find one simple moment today to be fully present and open-hearted with my child? Even when you don’t have the perfect words, a planned activity, or a game to play, your presence is enough. It’s sometimes those quiet, genuine moments of connection that leave the biggest impact.
