Over the past week, U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Central Command welcomed senior leader visits from Gen. Eric M. Smith, Commandant of the Marine Corps, and Rear Adm. Guido F. Valdes, Director, Health Services, Headquarters Marine Corps. These engagements reflect continued senior leader focus on readiness, operational effectiveness, and the health and well-being of Marines and Sailors supporting MARCENT’s mission across the Central Command area of responsibility.

During a visit to the amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli, U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Joseph R. Clearfield, Commander, U.S. Marine Forces, Central Command, had the opportunity to speak directly with Marines aboard the ship and discuss equipment and gear capabilities.

U.S. Marines and Sailors deployed to the Middle East recently worked alongside Royal Saudi Marine Forces during exercise Indigo Defender. The training exercise strengthened interoperability and sharpened warfighting skills.

U.S. Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 314 conducts routine flight operations aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) in the Arabian Sea. VMFA-314 is currently deployed to the CENTCOM area of operations supporting maritime security and regional stability. U.S. Central Command
