🚧 AIRMONT GAS MAIN REPLACEMENT UPDATE

Orange & Rockland (O&R) is scheduled to begin a gas main replacement project on September 10th along Carpenter Court and Smith Hill Road in Airmont.

The project will replace approximately 750 feet of gas main to improve the safety and reliability of the neighborhood’s natural gas system. Work is expected to take approximately 2–3 weeks, weather permitting.

What residents should know:
• Crews will be working along Carpenter Court and Smith Hill Road.
• Driveway access will be maintained, and road plates will be used where necessary.
• After the new main is installed, O&R will schedule appointments with affected residents to connect their homes to the new system.
• Indoor gas meters and regulators will be relocated outdoors as part of the project.
• Some work may require digging on private property. Any disturbed areas will be restored, including grass and impacted surfaces.
• Residents may experience a brief gas service interruption when their home is connected. O&R personnel will relight pilots for gas appliances afterward.
• Proper construction signage, cones, and other safety measures will be in place throughout the project.

O&R is investing approximately *$238,000* in this neighborhood infrastructure improvement.

Please be advised that the Village of Airmont Village Hall will be closed on Friday, July 3, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

Village Hall will reopen during regular business hours on the next scheduled business day.
