đź‘·Tallmadge Branch Library will close Saturday, March 14 for repairs and remodeling. This remodel project is comprised of several phases and includes a 6-month closure for roof replacement, followed by a longer closure for renovation of the building structure and interior furnishings.
Our 19 library buildings are aging. With an average building age of 24 years, all Akron-Summit County Public Library locations require significant repairs and updates to continue serving the community effectively.
These improvements are part of the Library's long‑term capital plan to modernize all 19 library buildings. Supported by the 2025 voter‑approved 1‑mill, 20‑year bond issue, this investment ensures our facilities remain safe, accessible, and ready to serve the community for decades to come.
During construction, limited special programming will be offered offsite, and additional details will be shared as plans develop. Reopening is planned for Summer 2027.
