👷🧰 Learn about the branch’s upcoming renovation at an open-to-the-public town hall meeting. Bostwick Design Partners will share the design plans, Development Director Mike Derr will discuss sponsorship opportunities, and staff will provide updates on programs and bookmobile services available during the closure. REMINDER: The Tallmadge Branch Library is currently closed for repairs and remodeling, but our service to the Tallmadge community will continue with off-site programs.

In April and May, we will present Book Discussions and Knit & Crochet Club at Danbury Senior Living, and Family Storytime at the Tallmadge Recreation Center. Vinyl Revival has moved to Highland Square Branch Library during the renovations, as well.

Tallmadge Branch Library will close Saturday, March 14 for repairs and remodeling. This remodel project is comprised of several phases and includes a 6-month closure for roof replacement, followed by a renovation of the building structure and interior furnishings. Reopening is planned for Summer 2027.

👷Tallmadge Branch Library will close Saturday, March 14 for repairs and remodeling. This remodel project is comprised of several phases and includes a 6-month closure for roof replacement, followed by a longer closure for renovation of the building structure and interior furnishings.

Our 19 library buildings are aging. With an average building age of 24 years, all Akron-Summit County Public Library locations require significant repairs and updates to continue serving the community effectively.

These improvements are part of the Library's long‑term capital plan to modernize all 19 library buildings. Supported by the 2025 voter‑approved 1‑mill, 20‑year bond issue, this investment ensures our facilities remain safe, accessible, and ready to serve the community for decades to come.

During construction, limited special programming will be offered offsite, and additional details will be shared as plans develop. Reopening is planned for Summer 2027.

🌿Teens and tweens are invited to a fun, hands-on art night at the Tallmadge Branch Library on Monday, February 23 from 6–7:30pm. Design your own tiny animal flower pot and pick a plant to bring it to life. Grown‑ups are welcome to hang out too.

In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, all Akron‑Summit County Public Library locations will be closed on Monday, January 19.

We encourage our community to take time to reflect, learn, and engage in the spirit of Dr. King's legacy.

🎨 Teens & Tweens: it’s your time to create!

Join us at the Tallmadge Branch Library for a hands‑on art night on February 2, 6:30–7:30 pm.

We’ll have a mix of art supplies ready for you so you can experiment, make something awesome, or just unwind with friends. Feel free to bring your own favorite materials too.

Parents and caregivers are welcome to hang out while you create.

❄️ Drop in for hands-on, open‑ended STEAM and creative play designed for children ages 2–5 with a caregiver—though all ages are welcome and celebrated. In Winter Wonderland, little ones can enjoy winter favorites indoors as they go ice fishing, build a snowman, toss snowballs, and more. Join the fun on Wednesday, January 21 from 10:30–11:30am.
