❀️ Could YOU help save a life?

Did you know there's a free mobile app called PulsePoint that can alert you when someone nearby is experiencing a sudden cardiac arrest and may need CPR or an AED?

PulsePoint helps connect trained citizens and nearby AEDs to people in need before first responders arrive. Through the app's National Emergency AED Registry (NEAR), emergency dispatchers can quickly identify nearby AED locations and help get lifesaving equipment to the scene faster.

If you're CPR certified, have access to an AED, or simply want to be more prepared to help your community, consider downloading the PulsePoint app today.

Every minute counts during a cardiac arrest emergency. Early CPR and rapid defibrillation can significantly increase a person's chance of survival.

πŸ“± Learn more about PulsePoint and how you can help make our community safer.

PulsePoint is a 911-connected app that can immediately inform you of emergencies occurring in your community and can request your help when CPR is needed…

🚨 MythBuster Monday🚨

MYTH: β€œThis baby deer is alone! I need to call dispatch so someone rescues it!”

BUSTED! ❌: That spotted little fawn is probably exactly where mom left it.
Mother deer often leave babies alone for hours while they search for food and will return when it’s safe. Fawns are designed to stay still, quiet, and hidden (even if hidden means your backyard, flower bed, or random patch of grass).

Usually okay:
β€’ Curled up quietly and resting
β€’ No obvious injury
β€’ Alone for short periods

Call if:
β€’ The fawn appears injured
β€’ It’s in immediate danger (roadway, trapped, attacked, etc.)
β€’ Mom has clearly not returned for an extended time and the animal appears distressed

Best thing to do? Admire from a distance and let nature do its thing. Mom is probably nearby keeping watch 🦌🦌🦌🦌

β€οΈπŸ§‘πŸ’› Happy Pride Month! πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’œ

It's getting colorful around the SECC! We created this shirt design for our dispatchers to celebrate and support Pride! SECC was able to donate $300 to CANAPI, a local organization that offers a variety of programs within the LGBTQ+ community including housing assistance, HIV testing and prevention, nutritional assistance, education & more.

My Asst. Chief of Staff Greta Johnson and Director of Sanitary Sewer Services Mike Vinay were pleased to accept a $1.09 million ceremonial check for the Peninsula Sanitary Sewer Collection and Treatment Facilities Project from Rep. Emilia Strong Sykes, alongside Peninsula Mayor Daniel Schneider this week.

This project, which includes the construction of a wastewater treatment plant, will bring sanitary sewer service to the Village, protecting the Cuyahoga River and Cuyahoga Valley National Park's nearly 3 million annual visitors from harmful discharges.

We are grateful to Congresswoman Sykes for recognizing the importance of this permanent solution & the positive environmental impact.
