The Tallassee Fire Department and Tallassee Waterworks will conduct flow tests on the fire hydrants in the City of Tallassee Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Testing will start each day around 8:30am and conclude by 5pm.

During these testing periods, residents may experience low water pressure, this should be only for a brief period. Residents may also experience orange-tinted water. If this occurs, flushing the outside faucets, commodes, and other water sources will clear the water. Before washing clothes, fill the machine with water to check for discoloration before placing the clothing or fabric in the machine.

Fire hydrant testing is an essential function of these two departments to provide the residents of Tallassee with adequate water for domestic use and firefighting purposes.
