On 6/3/2026, members of the Tallassee Police Department were assisted by the Montgomery Police Deptartment with the apprehension of wanted murder suspect, Jamario Butler, who surrendered himself to Law Enforcement Officials at his place of employment. Butler was wanted in connection with his involvement in a shooting that occurred on 5/30/26 in Tallassee where one victim died, and a second victim was treated for injuries at a hospital in Montgomery. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Tallassee Police Department would like to thank everyone who came forward with information, Chief Graboys, the Montgomery Police Department, and all other Law Enforcement Agencies who assisted in the quick apprehension of this suspect.
