📬 INJURED POSTAL EMPLOYEES — PROTECT YOURSELF.

Never accept a modified job assignment without making sure your PS Form 2499 and the duties being offered have been reviewed against your CURRENT medical restrictions.

Don't let anybody pressure you into doing work that exceeds what your doctor says you can safely do.

📄 Read the assignment.
📄 Know your restrictions.
📄 Keep copies of EVERYTHING.

And if something doesn't match, SPEAK UP and fight for your rights as an injured employee.

Your health is something you have to live with long after that shift is over. 💯

📬 INJURED POSTAL WORKERS — LET'S TALK ABOUT CHANGING DOCTORS. 👀

Have you ever gotten to the point where you felt like your doctor just wasn't listening to you anymore?

Maybe you're still hurting, your condition isn't improving, your restrictions don't reflect what you can actually do, or you simply feel like you need another doctor handling your care.

For those who've been through the OWCP process:

Have you ever requested to CHANGE DOCTORS during your case?

Was it approved?
Was it difficult?
How long did the process take?

📬 INJURED POSTAL WORKERS — PAY ATTENTION TO THIS.

One thing you NEED to do when you get hurt is make sure the job is giving you SUITABLE WORK within your medical restrictions. 💯

If you're given a modified job assignment, make sure you know exactly what you're agreeing to. Get your paperwork. Keep a copy of your PS Form 2499 when it's being used for your modified assignment, and compare the duties they're giving you with the restrictions your doctor actually wrote.

If your restriction says 20 lbs, don't let somebody verbally turn that into 30.

If it says NO overhead reaching, don't let somebody tell you, “Just do a little.”

If it says NO pushing or pulling, that's what it says.

📄 Your medical restrictions aren't suggestions.

And most importantly: DOCUMENT EVERYTHING.
