The CDD’s governing body is a five-member Board of Supervisors. The Board establishes the district's policy in accordance with Florida law. Staff members administer the operations of the district and implement the Board’s policies and contracts. Generally speaking, the district can plan, build, operate and maintain facilities and basic infrastructures for the following:
> Conservation areas, mit
igation areas and wildlife habitat
> Parks and facilities for indoor and outdoor recreational, cultural and educational uses
> Stormwater management
> Security for district-owned property, ie: no private property
> Investigating the cause of and funding the remediation of environmental contamination
