September is Workforce Development Month—a time to highlight the programs and resources helping people build skills and explore pathways to in-demand careers in Tallahassee-Leon County. 🚜

One of those resources is the CAT® Excavator Simulator at the LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library System Main Library. Through self-paced, hands-on training, participants can experience the skills used in heavy equipment operation, including digging and trenching, loading and hauling, site management, safety protocols, and equipment troubleshooting.

By making career exploration and skills development more accessible, resources like the Simulator Lab help strengthen our local talent pipeline and connect residents with opportunities in construction, infrastructure, and the skilled trades. Library cardholders ages 16 and older can participate after completing a brief orientation.
