Lakeland Fire Department was represented at yesterday's funding announcement with Florida Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia.

As part of the state’s investment in firefighter safety and infrastructure, $900,000 has been allocated toward Lakeland’s future Fire Station 8.

We’re thankful for the support of Florida’s fire service and the investment in resources that help departments plan for growth and serve their communities. We look forward to seeing continued progress as this project moves forward.

159 women veterans departed from Lakeland Linder International Airport early Wednesday morning for the inaugural General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) of Florida All-Women Veterans Flight of Honor traveling to Washington, D.C. 🇺🇸

The Lakeland Police Department was proud to be there to support these incredible women as they began their journey to our nation’s capital to be recognized for their service and sacrifice. Thank you to each of these veterans for your dedication to our country.

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to travel to Tallahassee alongside my fellow Commissioners Guy LaLonde Jr. and Stephanie Madden, as well as Mayor-elect Sara Roberts McCarley.

It was an honor to meet with our state delegation — State Representative Jennifer Canady, State Representative Jon Albritton, State Representative Jennifer Kincart Johnson, Senator Ben Albritton, and Senator Colleen Burton. Each meeting was focused, productive, and centered on the priorities that matter most to the people of Lakeland.

A special thank-you to Dave Shepp, our dedicated Lakeland lobbyist, who works tirelessly to ensure we remain well-informed on legislative matters and positioned for success throughout the session.

Our legislative team worked diligently throughout the day to clearly communicate Lakeland’s needs, upcoming requests, and long-range initiatives. These conversations are essential as we continue advocating for the projects and infrastructure investments that will strengthen our city’s future.

As always, it remains a privilege to represent the City of Lakeland. We remain forward-thinking, collaborative, and committed to serving our constituents with excellence.
