🚨 BIG WIN FOR COMMUNITY ACCOUNTABILITY 🚨
Yesterday, the Leon County Citizen Charter Review Committee voted 14-3 to advance Tallahassee ALERT’s proposed Community Impact Assessment and Accountability Amendment.
Just a few months ago, this proposal was deadlocked at 9-9. Today, community organizing, public engagement, and persistence moved it forward.
The amendment creates a recurring process for assessing community conditions, public reporting, and government accountability. It mandates transparency and a framework for evaluating the long-term impacts of historic public policy decisions.
This is a victory for grassroots democracy and everyone who showed up, spoke out, and stayed engaged.
The fight isn’t over. Three public hearings remain before this can reach the voters.
