The North Florida Office of Public Guardian, Inc. (OPG) has served the Big Bend area since 1986. In recent years, we have expanded across the panhandle. Our office serves as the court-appointed legal guardian for persons adjudged incapacitated by a court. We can serve persons who are indigent through the public guardianship program and persons who can afford a reasonable fee through our Private Fiduciary Services Division. Our Private Fiduciary Services Division can also provide care management services. We serve persons with neuro-cognitive disorders, traumatic brain injuries, developmental disabilities and other conditions that impair an individual’s capacity to make their life-management decisions. As guardians, we can make decisions in the area of financial management, choosing the most appropriate and least-restrictive residential options and medical decision-making. Our competent staff includes an attorney and masters level social workers. Call us at 850-487-4609, ext. 103 for more information.
