ROOTED TOGETHER - HOMEGROWN CONNECTIONS

We had a wonderful event in Jefferson County this week! Local seniors and families came together to engage in a multi-generational gardening event presented by the 4-H members hosted at the Jefferson County UF Extension Office.

4-H members educated the group on caring for house plants and the best ways to plant them. Participants were also provided with plants & pots to take home! Seniors and youth worked together to pot several beautiful flowers and enjoy some time outdoors.

Participants built up an appetite and shared dinner together funded through AAS programs. The delicious meal was prepared by Carlitos Way Food Truck.

It’s FRIDAY y’all and we ended a great week with a special visitor! 💙

Our Florida SHINE Program Liaison, Chris Polzer, stopped in today to visit with some of our seniors and share important information about the free SHINE program and the many resources available to older adults in our community.

From Medicare questions to prescription coverage and benefits guidance, SHINE provides invaluable support and education for seniors and families navigating important decisions.

We are thankful for partnerships like these and appreciate Mr. Polzer taking the time to spend with us here!

A special thank you as well to Advantage Aging Solutions for helping support programs and services that make a real difference for older adults across our community. We are grateful for partners who continue working to connect seniors with resources, education, and support. 💛
