June is PTSD Awareness Month 💚

PTSD can affect individuals in many different ways, including emotional, physical, and financial well-being.

The ABLE Age Adjustment Act expanded eligibility for ABLE accounts, helping more individuals with qualifying disabilities access tools that support long-term financial independence and future planning.

Awareness matters. Support matters. Access matters.

If you or someone you love is struggling with PTSD, you don’t have to face it alone. You can call the Mental Health Hotline at 866-903-3787 to get connected with PTSD support and mental health resources.

If your disability began in your 30s or 40s, this year looks different. New rules mean more people with disabilities whose onset was before age 46 may now be eligible to open an ABLE account, even if disability came later in life.

This can give you a way to save for disability-related expenses, such as health care, housing, transportation, or assistive technology, without certain benefits treating that money the same as regular savings.

During Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re reminded that no one should have to face mental health challenges alone.

Individuals with disabilities often experience higher rates of mental distress, but support is out there.

NAMI Florida provides free programs, resources, and a community that understands.

💙 You are not alone. If you or someone you know needs support, help is available 24/7 through the SAMHSA National Helpline at 1-800-662-HELP (4357). NAMI Florida
