Thank you to Region 2 Community Corrections for your Corrections Foundation membership drive! Region 2 Director Tammi Schilling and Region 2 Assistant Director Brenda Mintell brought together Probation Officers and other key staff to discuss the benefits of membership in the Corrections Foundation.

And what are the benefits? Up to $1,500 in direct financial assistance for medical emegencies and major accidents and up to $1,250 for diaster relief. Since 1999, we've provided nearly 15,000 FDC personnel with over $13 million in financial assistance.

Thank you for your support for the 2026 Louie L. Wainwright Scholarships! The application period has closed.

Sixty-five FDC professionals furthering their education submitted scholarship applications. By June, the Foundation's board of directors will review all applications and choose nine individuals - one from each region for institutions and community corrections - and will send $1,000 to the school each is attending.

The Louie L. Wainwright Scholarship application period will reopen on January 1, 2027.

Don’t miss your chance to secure one of nine $1,000 scholarships through the Corrections Foundation’s Louie L. Wainwright Scholarship.

This award is specifically for FDC employees, officers, and contractors who are furthering their education and building a career within the Florida Department of Corrections.

* Current FDC employee or contractor (full or part-time)
* Minimum 2.5 GPA
* Enrolled in a degree or certificate program
* Ready to submit a 1,000-word essay on "Why I'm Interested in a Career in Corrections"

Only 23 days until the March 31st deadline for the Louie L. Wainwright Scholarship. Nine individuals - one from each region and Central Office who are furthering their education and making a career in the Florida Department of Corrections - will be selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Eligibility:
* current FDC employee or contractor providing services at an FDC facility
* attending an accredited post-secondary institution of higher learning with a 2.5 GPA or higher
* transcript and proof of enrollment
* list of volunteer or other extracurricular activities
* write a 1,000-word essay on "Why I'm Interested in a Career in Corrections".
