Studies show that students who are exposed to a traumatic event experience increased absences and decreased academic performance. The Hope Scholarship Program creates a pathway for students who are subjected to an act of violence or abuse at school to pursue their education with hope, dignity and an opportunity for success. Every student deserves access to a safe environment and a world class education.

In the aftermath of hurricane Irma, and at a time when we are told we are a nation divided, we witnessed some of the very best of America. From neighbor helping neighbor to those who traveled across the country to help a stranger, there is no shortage of those who deserve our thanks.
