π Summer reading is underway at the Leon County Library β and YOUR generosity helped make it happen!
Thanks to donations from Friends of the Library members, the library is able to offer its summer literacy programs again this year. The theme is "Unearth a Story," with dinosaur-themed crafts, activities, and interactive learning designed to keep kids reading and curious all summer long. Kids 17 and under who participate in the reading challenge earn badges, prizes β and a FREE book!
As Library Director Pamela Monroe put it, combating the "summer slide" β the learning loss kids experience when they're out of school β is exactly what these programs are all about. That mission is only possible with community support.
To every Friend who has donated: THANK YOU. You are directly investing in the minds of our community's children. π
