Affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and 26 local/regional home builders associations around the state, FHBA enjoys a legacy of success spanning 65 years. At its core, FHBA is about advocacy and its legislative, legal and political initiatives have worked

together to create the best possible economic and regulatory environment for our members to succeed. In addition to advocacy, FHBA provides members with timely news and information, high-quality education and a wide array of competitively priced products and services. Community service and public awareness are also part of FHBA’s mission highlighted by the trademarked Parade of Homes ® presented annually by local/regional HBAs and student scholarships for members of the Future Builders of America (FBA) program. FHBA affiliations include the Southeast Building Conference (SEBC), Florida Home Builders Insurance, Inc. (FHBI) and the Vendor of Choice program. The 2026 Aurora Awards Finalists have officially been announced! These projects represent the very best in residential design, innovation, marketing, and construction across the Southeast.

Every finalist selected will be recognized on stage at the 2026 Aurora Awards Gala, where Grand Winners and Best in Show will be revealed live in Orlando during SEBC 2026.

Big wins for Florida’s home building industry this week!

Governor Ron DeSantis signed four FHBA priority bills into law , delivering meaningful victories for builders, homeowners, and communities across the state. The following laws will take effect July 1, 2026: HB 803 "Building Permits and Inspections" by Sen. Nick DiCeglie and Rep. Dana Trabulsy; HB927 "Local Land Planning and Development" by Sen. Ralph Massullo and Rep. Judson Sapp; and SB 848 "Stormwater Treatment" by Sen. Keith Truenow and Rep. Karen Gonzalez Pittman. HB 589 "Onsite Sewage Treatment and Disposal System Permits" also known as the Septic Tank Permitting bill by Sen. Jonathan Martin and Rep. Danny Nix has taken effect upon signing into law.
