Scattered to widespread showers and thunderstorms⛈️can be expected this afternoon and evening. Frequent lightning ⚡️and gusty winds 🌬️will be the main impacts.

9:35 PM ET/8:35 PM CT Sunday: Strong to severe thunderstorms are moving across southern Georgia, moving south-southwest across I-75. Damaging wind gusts and torrential rains are the main threats with the storms over the next several hours. The greatest threat will be across southern Georgia east of the Flint River and possibly into the Big Bend late tonight. Have multiple ways to receive warnings. And, if you have any damage or flooding reports, please let us know when it's safe to do so.

Strong to severe storms ⚡️will be possible this afternoon into tonight for SE AL and SW GA. Isolated to damaging wind gusts will be the main concern 🌬️, along with potentially heavy rainfall ⛈️which could lead to isolated flash flooding.

Heat 🥵 will also be a concern this afternoon for portions of our south-central Georgia counties. There is a Heat Advisory in effect from Noon EDT through 6pm EDT.
