There are many places to launch from. My favorite trip has to be a half day'r. Starting at Johnny Boy Lading near Altha, Fl and arriving at the Lamb Eddy Boat Landing. This makes for a 4 hour trip depending the flow of the river.

From US 90 or I-10, take exit 142 "SR71" and travel South to CR274 in the town of Altha "about 10 miles from I-10. Turn right onto CR274 and go 5 miles to Hamilton Springs Rd on the left. Proceed down Hamilton Springs Rd through 4-way stop. Go straight after the stop and turn left on Lamb Eddy Rd and follow down to the boat ramp on the left.ching at Johnny Boy Landing is easy and there are many stops to made on your voyage, many swings, deep pools, and a nice rapid at Look and Trimble. The chase/retieval vehicle to be parked at Lamb Eddys will only take you about 10mins to go park there at the end. Due to the Chipola being very winding between these two spots makes it appear to be a longer distance than it really is.
