I was proud to join Jeremy Matlow and PJ Perez For Tallahassee for the rally and canvass today supporting Angie Nixon for Florida — a true fighter for the people of Florida.

Despite being outspent 16-1, State Rep. Nixon proved that organized people can beat organized money every time when you champion the causes of affordable housing, universal healthcare and childcare, and high-quality education.

Change can’t wait. I’m proud to support Angie Nixon for the U.S. Senate and strongly encourage everyone to vote for her on or by November 3!

From growing up in a sh***un shack raised by a coal miner father and a domestic housekeeper mother to becoming the Collective Bargaining Representative for the Leon Classroom Teachers Association, my lived experience is why I’ve always fought for working people.

Progress is made when we come together and recognize that we all have a voice to advocate for safer working conditions, equal and fair wages, and dignity and respect for everyone.

Happy Labor Day, and let’s deliver a Tallahassee that promises to always have workers’ back!

Flock cameras are a direct example of Big Brother watching us and are a clear violation of our privacy rights.

The Leon County Commission, Leon County Sheriff Walt McNeil, and even Governor Ron DeSantis have banned Flock cameras — but so far, the Tallahassee City Commission, by a 3-2 vote that includes Dianne Williams-Cox, has refused.

It’s time to get Flock cameras out of Tallahassee! We hope to see all of you at the City Commission meeting on September 9th to make your voices heard on this pivotal privacy issue facing our community.
