I was able to attend the first National School Safety Summit the past few days. We are so blessed to be in the great state of Florida who leads the nation in legislation and initiatives— sadly due to the huge loss of life at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School. I got to meet some of the parents who lost children that awful day. I also have to say, here in Leon County we were way ahead of the rest of the state in school safety initiatives- so a huge shout out to Leon County Schools for leading the way. School Safety takes everyone working together!

What a pleasure to work with this amazing School Board! This past week I was able to attend our state conference and reconnect with school board members from around the state as well as attend some fantastic sessions! Leon County is definitely a great place to live and work! I love serving our families and schools and doing it with this group!

Friday, I had the honor to say thank you to our LCS District Maintenance Staff! We live in a great community and work in an amazing and caring school district! Paula Pierce gave an inspirational talk on the importance of gratitude! No matter the circumstances, you can always find something to be thankful for—It’s good for the soul! As Scripture says, “Pray without ceasing and In everything give thanks”. May you and your family be blessed this Thanksgiving!

What an honor to get to serve another 4 years and to have my brother swear me in and my husband at my side— two of my favorite and most influential “men” in my life! I used my dad’s Bible and know he would be so proud of his little girl! I was also honored to have my mom and other family there too! I am truly humbled and extremely grateful to God who makes all things possible! To Him be the glory!
