A proposed constitutional amendment could significantly impact Florida property taxes if approved by voters this November.

Key highlights:
✔ Increased homestead exemption
✔ Reduced assessment cap for non-homestead properties
✔ Would require 60% voter approval
✔ Proposed effective date of January 1, 2027

An important step forward for Florida’s Hometown Heroes Program.

After being left out of earlier budget proposals, **$50 million for Hometown Heroes has been restored in the final proposed state budget.**

When this program needed support, FAMP members took action. Our Government Affairs team, lobbyists, Board of Directors and members made calls, shared videos and reached out to legislative leaders to make sure the value of this program was heard.

Thank you to Florida’s legislative leaders for listening and restoring this important funding in the final proposed budget.

The budget still must move through the final vote, and FAMP will continue monitoring it through final passage.

This is why advocacy matters.
This is why membership matters.
