..FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM CDT EARLY THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northwest Texas, including the following
counties, Lynn and Terry.

* WHEN...Until 500 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 247 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Tahoka, O`Donnell, New Moore, Wilson and New Home.

..STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT LUBBOCK...LYNN...GARZA AND
SOUTHWESTERN CROSBY COUNTIES THROUGH 930 PM CDT...

At 905 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 7 miles northwest of Justiceburg to 7 miles
northwest of New Moore. Movement was northwest at 35 mph. This
storm complex has generated an outflow that is possibly bringing
with it a region of blowing dust with 50+ mph winds. These winds
and dust will affect Slaton, Lubbock, and Wolfforth between 9 and
930 PM.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Lubbock, Slaton, Post, Tahoka, Lake Alan Henry, Wolfforth,
Shallowater, Idalou, Lorenzo, Ransom Canyon, O`Donnell, Grassland,
New Moore, Lubbock South Plains Mall, Justiceburg, Slide, Woodrow,
Reese Center, Caprock, and Lubbock International Airport.

THROUGH 630 PM CDT...

At 557 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from near Locketville to 7 miles
northwest of Welch to 6 miles south of Grassland. Movement was
southwest at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Brownfield, O`Donnell, New Moore, Meadow, and Wellman.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
