Obituary
James Andrew Hammer, 76, a resident of Greenland, Arkansas, passed away Monday, June 8, 2026 at the Circle of Life Hospice Home. He was born April 27, 1950 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, the son of Jimmie and Ida Mae (Watt) Hammer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jason Hulse and five siblings, Lonnie Hammer, Larry Hammer, Edward Hammer, Wanda Hammer, and Shirley Stroud.

He is survived by his wife Janet Hammer; one son, James Hulse; five grandchildren, Delaney Hulse, Dylon Hulse (Kyla), Denver Hulse, Michael Lindsey, and Lillie Moon (Maverick); two great-grandchildren, Tatum Hulse and Josie Hulse; and five siblings, Steve Hammer (Melva), John Hammer, Jimmie Hammer (Brenda), Terry Hammer, and Mary Hammer-Neal (Bedford).

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 10, 2026, 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM at the Three Crosses Cowboy Church.

Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 10th, 2026, at Three Crosses Cowboy Church in Westville, Oklahoma. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

In lieu of flower memorials may be made to Northwest Arkansas Patriot Guard Riders C/O Jim Kribs - 2875 N Charleston Crossing - Fayetteville, AR 72703

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. announced that the tribe will be investing in a Cherokee veteran’s cemetery located in Tahlequah during a Memorial Day ceremony Friday.
