TURN AROUND DON'T DROWN!
The US National Weather Service Corpus Christi Texas is forecasting heavy rainfall in our area. Remember these safe driving tips when driving in the rain:
GET PREPARED
Check your vehicle, trailer, and equipment tires before driving. Make sure the windshield wipers are in good working condition before operation.
AVOID FLOODED ROADS
It is difficult to judge how deep the water is. Six inches of
water will reach the bottom of most passenger cars causing loss of control and possible stalling.
SLOW DOWN
Drive to the current conditions to avoid loss of traction on the roadway.
IDENTIFY HAZARDS
Identify unsafe travel paths. Debris, fixed objects, downed powerlines, or other items may be hidden. If you don’t know, don’t go! Turn off cruise control as well!
