Ever wondered how you could step foot on the carefully maintained green in Wright Park? Now you can! Parks Tacoma and Tacoma Lawn Bowling Club are offering beginner-friendly lessons to this classic game and covers everything you need to get started, including equipment, basic techniques and game etiquette and teamwork.

Our next round of lessons begin in June and are led by experienced volunteers from our historic local club, Tacoma Bowls, making it a great way to learn something new and connect with others.

Summer is basically here and Tacoma’s spraygrounds are officially ON ☀️

Cool off daily from 10 am–7 pm starting May 23 through Labor Day at nine free spraygrounds across Tacoma. All spraygrounds are zero-entry, meaning they slope like a beach instead of using stairs, making them easy and accessible for everyone to enjoy.

Pack the sunscreen, towels and water shoes and make a day of it at spraygrounds located at Franklin, Kandle, Jefferson, Norpoint, SERA, Titlow, Verlo, Wapato Hills and Wright Park.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the 50+ Plant Swap at Eastside Community Center yesterday! 🌱

We hope you went home with a few new plants, some gardening inspiration and maybe even made a couple new friends along the way. It was wonderful seeing the community come together to share a love for plants.

Special thanks to Humana, Washington State University Master Gardeners, and Tacoma Tree Foundation who brought plants to swap, shared advice and helped make the event so welcoming. Tacoma really showed up for the plant people!
