Leslie's Tacoma

Leslie's Tacoma Not your typical real estate broker, since 2004.🌟buy/sell real estate🌟local community🌟small biz🌟history🌟preservation🌟photography🌟architecture🌟DIY🌟

I am a 23 year resident of Tacoma and a dedicated advocate for the Lincoln District. I have worked as a real estate broker since 2004 and have worked part-time in community development consulting and home staging/design services for over 10 years. Here you will find news and events relating to T-Town and beyond! This page embodies what I love - everything urban, community development, real estate, public policy/government, education, cultural activities/events (I also LOVE cultural anthropology), small business promotion, pop culture, architecture/old house love, history, travel. I've often thought I may have missed my calling in journalism. Here you will sometimes also find news about the housing market, real estate development, real estate abroad, mortgage lending, economics, urban planning, sustainability, and other topics ad hoc. Many posts will be Tacoma-specific, but if they aren't, they're here to create interest in the context of Tacoma and Pierce County. This page is intended to be a community resource for all. Chiefly, it’s a place for people who share similar interests and a collective love for Tacoma. Discussion of goings-on, dreams, and hopes for our city are all welcome. Thanks for showing up, and welcome to Tacoma! If you need real estate assistance or just have questions about Tacoma, please call, email me, or message me on Messenger/Instagram (). I look forward to speaking with you!

A bright neon sign pointed the way to the new Kings drive-in restaurant at 315 Wakefield Drive (now South Tacoma Way) in late summer, 1957. The small brick building had expansive glass windows and fluorescent lighting; the parking area was still unfinished. King's #2 celebrated its grand opening on September 12, 1957, with food specials and orchids for the ladies. Owner Werner Schmid was well-known for his clean restaurants and fine service; in addition to King's #2, Mr. Schmid owned Smitty's Drive-In on Puyallup Ave., King's #1 on Pacific Ave., Smitty's Hilltop and the Burger Bowl.
