What an incredible experience at the **Serving Victims of Crime Conference**!

I was honored to present “The Lost Boys – The Forgotten Victims of the Child Abuse Material Industry” and have the opportunity to connect with so many dedicated professionals working to support victims and survivors of crime.

A sincere thank you to the National Criminal Justice Training Center of Fox Valley Technical College and everyone who helped make this conference such a meaningful experience. The conversations, collaboration, and willingness to learn from one another are exactly what move this work forward.

I’m grateful for everyone who attended, asked questions, shared their experiences, and continues to advocate for survivors whose voices are too often overlooked.

Together, we can strengthen our systems of care, expand awareness, and ensure all survivors - including male survivors of sexual exploitation are seen, heard, and supported!

Thank you for an amazing conference. I had a wonderful time and look forward to being back next year!

🩺 Health Insurance Can Be Confusing—You Don’t Have to Figure It Out Alone!

Health insurance can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re learning how to navigate it for the first time. What does all that paperwork mean? What does my insurance actually cover? Where do I go for help?

Now there’s a resource created by and for teens and young adults to help answer those questions.

The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) worked with a Youth Intern to create “Navigating Health Insurance: A Guide by and for Teens and Young Adults.” The guide was built around the real questions, concerns, and need-to-know information young people identified themselves. Partners at the Washington State Health Care Authority also reviewed the guide to help ensure the information is accurate and current.

📘 Extended Guide: Available in
English https://tinyurl.com/3t34s34y
Spanish https://tinyurl.com/4m26xcn8

📱 Pocket Guide: A quick, easy-to-use version also available in
English https://tinyurl.com/4vwc6yck
Spanish https://tinyurl.com/289fvkcf

Whether you’re getting health insurance for the first time, trying to understand your benefits, or simply want to know what questions to ask, this guide is a great place to start.

Know a teen or young adult who could use this? Share it with them! 💙

Proposed Rules: Child Welfare - Voluntary Placement Agreements (VPA)

Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) filed WSR 26-16-036 https://shorturl.at/8YP1X to open the public comment period on proposed revisions to amend WAC 110-50-0060 and other related Voluntary Placement Agreement WACs in Chapter 110-50. The WAC amendment will decrease the timeframes for VPAs from 180 to 90 calendars days to ensure the department is meeting the federal IVE funding requirement. The WAC will also be updated to align with current practice and clarify requirements. The WACs that are no longer needed are being repealed.

🎨 **New Artist Spotlight | Welcome Jacinto Hausinger to the FAM Collection**

We're excited to welcome **Jacinto Hausinger** as the newest artist featured in the **FAM (Fabulous Art Museum) Collection** at Evergreen Caregiver Support.

Jacinto's mixed-media collages explore memory, resilience, popular culture, and personal transformation through richly layered compositions filled with vintage ephemera, street art, comics, found objects, and hidden imagery. His work invites viewers to slow down, look closer, and discover som**hing new with every viewing.

After beginning his recovery journey in 2015, Jacinto's artwork evolved into a powerful reflection of healing, hope, and resilience—transforming life's fragmented experiences into meaningful visual stories.

We're honored to introduce the first three works in the **FAM Collection of Jacinto Hausinger**:

🦇 **Hero 2** – A nostalgic urban collage where Batman watches over layers of history, comics, graffiti, and cultural references.

💀 **Free Fallin'** – A vibrant celebration of creative chaos, blending sugar skulls, vintage imagery, street art, music, and film into a dynamic visual experience.

🎭 **Reflection** – Inspired by the Joker and created during a time of personal change, this emotionally powerful work explores resilience, transformation, and the importance of remembering the good times.

Each piece rewards careful observation, revealing hidden details and new stories with every visit.
