This weekend I got to attend University of Washington Tacoma at Tacoma Rainiers with my son.

UWT holds a special place in my heart. I learned so much about who I wanted to be and what it took to accomplish my goals.

I worked 40+ hours a week in retail at the Tacoma Mall at the time… in the one year each quarter was credit packed (15, 20 and 26 credits per quarter, respectively). I managed to make Dean’s List, graduate with honors and do some community work at local high schools.

In the year I took off in between my bachelors and law school, I continued to use the campus, attending our pre-law society meetings and LSAT study sessions.

I am so thankful for the opportunities this school and city have given me. Being in the Advisory Board of UW Tacoma’s Legal Pathways, giving students a structured opportunity to explore legal careers and internships. This feels like a full-circle moment in life and I am so grateful.
