The VFW Auxiliary is one of the nation’s oldest veterans’ service organizations and our members are the relatives of those who have served in overseas combat. We have 475,000 members representing all 50 states, the District of Columbia and several foreign-based Auxiliaries who volunteer millions of hours and give millions of dollars to support veterans, military service personnel, and their famili

es. We are a voice for veterans on Capitol Hill and are instrumental in assisting the VFW pass or block legislation that impacts veterans and their families. We are one of the top ten providers of volunteer hours in the VA medical system. Every year, members fund-raise millions of dollars for charitable projects that benefit veterans and their families. We also provide hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships for our nation’s youth. With more than 4,000 Auxiliaries, there is likely one in your area working to improve the lives of America’s uncommon heroes.

It was a whirlwind week last week.

Congrats to VFWA 6590 who had top winners in the Young American Patriotic Art Contest. Congrats to VFWA 10065 who recieved a plaque honoring their 50th Anniversary. Congrats to VFWA 2692 and 7677 who were named All-American Auxiliaries. 👑👑 And Mary Dungan who was elected as Department Sr Vice President, Paula Pinto who was elected as Department Treasurer, Victoria Hendrix who was elected as Department Chaplain and Mary Ryan Sandman who was elected as Department Guard for 2026-27.

Congrats to District Commander Todd Epperly, District Quartermaster David Wood, VFW 3020 Commander Bill Barats, VFW 6590 Commander David Wood, VFW 6590 Quartermaster Nicholas George all who earned their white hats, meaning they earned All-American Status.

And lastly, the parade awards.
VFW 2445 won 2nd Place VFW Marching Unit.
VFWA 2445 won Outstanding Auxiliary Marching Unit.
VFW/VFWA 10065 won 1st place for their Jr ROTC.

It was a busy weekend in District 11. We had District Convention starting on Friday. We ended the weekend with Memorial Services at Beverly National Cemetery.
