At VFW Auxiliary National Headquarters, we have recently received several emails about incorrect information on Auxiliary websites, social media pages and posters or flyers. These errors are nearly always caused by the use of AI generated content.
Please, when finding or sharing information about the VFW Auxiliary, go straight to the source. Our website includes all necessary public-facing information and details about the Bylaws, Ritual or Programs can be found behind MALTA member login.
In addition, when creating posters or flyers about your Auxiliary fundraisers, events or projects, please keep in mind that using AI-generated content has a tendency to lead to misinformation, fake logos/emblems and incorrect contact information.
Some of the specific issues that have come to us lately include a poster with an AI-generated VFW National Home logo that does not resemble the correct logo, flyers with a fake Auxiliary emblem, incorrect web addresses, outdate contest information (remember, we no longer have the National Anthem singing contest) and an AI chatbot's insistence that people are able to join the VFW Auxiliary under a great-grandparent or uncle (they're not).
