🚘 YOUR CAR SHOULD FIT YOU—not the other way around.

Today, Onondaga County Traffic Safety Advisory Board and the The Governor's Traffic Safety Committee of New York brought CarFit to , engaging drivers one-on-one to help improve comfort, control and safety behind the wheel.

CarFit specialists checked:

✅ Mirror placement and blind spots
✅ Headlights, brake lights and blinkers
✅ Seat height and distance from the steering wheel
✅ Proper seat-belt positioning
✅ Overall visibility and vehicle fit

Small adjustments can make a major difference in helping drivers remain safe, confident and independent.

A tremendous thank-you to Empower Parkinson’s for welcoming this important event and supporting safer mobility throughout our community!

LET EVERY STORY MAKE IT HOME.

Today, a kindergartner takes a first bus ride.
A nervous student enters a new school.
A senior begins a year of lasts.

They aren’t thinking about your coffee, your phone or how late you’re running.

They’re trusting you to see them.

Slow down in school zones.
Stop for school buses.
Yield to pedestrians.
Put the phone away.

Protect every first. Let every story make it home.

LET EVERY STORY MAKE IT HOME.

Tomorrow morning will feel ordinary to many drivers.

But for a bright-eyed kindergartner, it may be the first time a parent lets go of their hand at the bus stop.

For a nervous student, it may be the first walk into a new junior high—trying hard to look brave.

For a senior, it will be the first of their last mornings.

New shoes. Nervous smiles. Proud parents. Stories filled with hope, love, excitement and fear—all beginning at once.

These students are not thinking about the coffee in your hand.

They are not thinking about the notification that just lit up your phone, the conversation on the radio or how late you are running.

They are trusting you to see them.

One distracted moment can end a story that has barely begun.

Slow down in school zones.
Stop for school buses.
Yield to pedestrians.
Put the phone away.

Protect every first.

Let every story make it home.

This Labor Day weekend, remember that your plans shouldn't cost lives — yours or others.

If you plan to drink, make sure your plan includes a safe way home before the first sip:
⭕ Schedule a rideshare
⭕ Call a taxi
⭕ Have a sober friend drive you home

Cannabis, illegal drugs—and even some legally prescribed or over-the-counter medications—can impair your ability to drive safely.

If a substance affects your judgment, coordination, vision, or reaction time, stay out of the driver’s seat.

Legal to use does not mean legal or safe to use before driving.

If you feel different, you drive differently.

Drive High, Get a DUI.

🏍️ Two wheels. One choice. Ride sober.

Alcohol affects balance, judgment, coordination, and reaction time...

The exact abilities every motorcyclist needs to stay alive.

In 2024, approximately 40% of motorcyclists killed in single-vehicle crashes were alcohol-impaired.

Protect your license. Protect your life. Protect everyone sharing the road.

Ride Sober or Get Pulled Over.

Weekend planning...

Your safe ride home should never be an afterthought.

Before the first drink:

📱 Choose your rideshare
🚕 Arrange a taxi
🔑 Designate a completely sober driver
🏠 Make plans to stay overnight

Waiting until you’re impaired to decide how you’re getting home is not a plan.

Make the smart choice before the celebration begins. Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.
