Friends of the Central Library Friends of the Central Library raises funds to support the Central Library.

The Friends of the Central Library raises funds to support the Central Library of downtown Syracuse, NY--the hub of the Onondaga County Public Library system--as well as the surrounding OCPL branches. Since 1997, FOCL has donated over $650,000 to support library programs and literacy efforts, as well as the purchase of books, and materials. rary Author Series, the largest library-related lecture series in the country. Now in its 28th season, the Friends of the Central Library has invited over 150 world-famous authors to Syracuse to entertain, inform and inspire our Central New York audience. The Friends of the Central Library believes that libraries are critical to the vibrancy of a community. Libraries afford residents opportunities to job search, research historical and genealogy records, educate, form connections, access technology, and have fun.

Support stories, literacy, and lifelong learning in our community by becoming a sponsor of the Friends of the Central Library (FOCL) Author Series Season 32.

For more than 30 years, FOCL has brought world-renowned authors to Syracuse to entertain, inspire, and spark meaningful conversation, while raising funds to support the Onondaga County Public Library system and its programs, books, staff development, and community initiatives.
