Honoring National Police Woman Day

Today, the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office proudly recognizes National Police Woman Day and honors the remarkable women who serve and protect our community.

Within the OCSO, we are fortunate to have dedicated women who wear the badge with courage, professionalism, and compassion every single day. Their contributions are vital, not only in enforcing the law, but also in building trust, providing guidance, and making a difference in the lives of those we serve.

We also extend our gratitude to all the women in law enforcement throughout Onondaga County, New York State, and across our nation. Your strength, leadership, and commitment continue to inspire the next generation of officers and remind us all of the impact one person can make.

To all the women in policing, thank you for your service, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication.

Sheriff Toby Shelley and The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office would like to wish everyone a safe and Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸

Labor Day is more than just the “unofficial end of summer” and an excuse to fire up the grill, it’s a time to honor the hard work and dedication of men and women across every profession who keep our communities moving forward.

A special thank you goes out to all those who are working today instead of taking the day off, first responders, health care workers, retail employees, truck drivers, and so many others. While many are enjoying a burger, hotdog, or maybe that last dip in the pool, you’re still out there making sure everything runs smoothly (and safely).

From all of us at OCSO: enjoy the day, take care of one another, and don’t forget, if you’re on the roads after those cookouts, please drive responsibly.
